How do you run Facebook ads for a pork wholesaler? Use posters that show the products and prices, with a messaging objective so restaurants and stalls can message to ask for prices. In this case about RM129 over 3 days brought 31 messaging conversations (about RM4.16 each). This pork wholesale Facebook ads case comes from a food wholesale client YF ADS(颖峯)is currently working with: a pork wholesaler in West Malaysia that supplies restaurants, food stalls and bulk buyers. Below are the client’s own ad creative, 3 days of real Meta Ads Manager data, and how we adjust the campaigns day to day.
- 31Messaging conversations in 3 days
- ≈RM129Ad spend over 3 days (USD 30.71)*
- ≈RM4.16Average cost per conversation*
- West MYTarget area (East Malaysia excluded)
Background: why food wholesale fits Facebook ads
Food wholesale is a classic B2B business. The buyers are restaurant owners, hawker stalls, roast meat shops and anyone who buys in bulk. They scroll Facebook like everyone else, and when they see a reliable supplier they message straight away on WhatsApp or Messenger to ask about price, minimum order and delivery.
So the goal of this campaign was simple: get the right people to start a conversation, then the client’s own sales team follows up with quotes and orders. In Ads Manager the campaign is optimised for “messaging conversations started”.
The creative: one clear wholesale poster
The ad uses the client’s own suckling pig wholesale poster. The message is direct: steady supply, long-term partnership, limited to 500 pigs, delivery across Malaysia. For wholesale buyers, that is exactly the information they care about, so no fancy design is needed.

3 days of real data: spend, conversations and cost
Here is the Meta Ads Manager data for 1, 2 and 6 October. Two ads ran in this period (one for suckling pig, one for skin-on pork belly), and they targeted West Malaysia only. East Malaysia was not targeted.
| Date | Ad spend (RM)* | Conversations started | Cost per conversation (RM)* |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 Oct | ≈38.30 | 10 | ≈3.83 |
| 2 Oct | ≈42.46 | 8 | ≈5.31 |
| 6 Oct | ≈48.22 | 13 | ≈3.71 |
| Total | ≈128.98 | 31 | ≈4.16 |
* Ads Manager reports in USD: 1 Oct $9.12, 2 Oct $10.11, 6 Oct $11.48, total $30.71, about $0.99 per conversation. RM figures are converted at roughly 1 USD ≈ RM4.2 for reference only; the actual bank rate may differ.

How to read these numbers
A “messaging conversation started” means someone saw the ad and actively opened a chat to send a message. It is not a sale, and not everyone who messages will order. Some only ask for the price, some ask about delivery areas. How many turn into orders depends on the client’s pricing, supply and how fast they reply.
Daily cost moves up and down: 2 October had fewer conversations and a higher cost each, then it came back down on 6 October. The two ads also took turns being the cheaper one. That is why ads should never be “set and forget”.
This client kept advertising through the period and did receive orders. But to be clear: ads are not a machine where RM1 in always means more than RM1 back. Results vary by industry and timing, and nobody can guarantee a 100% outcome.
What YF ADS can do for you
What we can do is make every ringgit easier to understand, and adjust daily based on the data:
- Creative: check that your poster and copy put buyers’ key questions first (supply, price range, minimum order, delivery area), and suggest new versions to test when needed.
- Audience: set the area to match where you deliver (this case targets West Malaysia only), then refine age, interests and placements based on conversation quality.
- Campaign settings: choose the right optimisation goal (such as messaging conversations), budget split and schedule, and move budget towards the ads that perform better.
- Retargeting: remind people who viewed, engaged with or messaged you, so buyers who are still deciding see you again.
- Daily feedback: we check the numbers every day and tell you what was spent, how many conversations came in, which ad did better, and what we will change next.
To be honest: we do not guarantee order numbers and we do not make up conversion rates. We run the ads properly and explain the data clearly; quoting, reply speed and closing still need your team.
Pricing
YF ADS Facebook ads management starts from RM599. Ad spend is billed separately to Meta or TikTok. In this case the client’s own card pays Meta directly, and we never handle the ad budget. You can start small, look at the data, then decide whether to scale up.
